misskittykats 0 Posted December 17, 2015 Hi, I have a 27X PTZ camera that is currently a runaway. I am currently on vacation and access my cameras remotely. Evidently there was a power outage and when the PTZ came back online it is a runaway.. going every which way on it's own and I cannot gain access and control. I have video no problem but cannot stop the camera to put back in her home location. I am afraid it will burn it's motor out if I don't get it rectified. Any ideas? Thanks! prairietech 0 Posted December 17, 2015 Another power cycle may fix the problem. Friend, neighbor or family member with access to the house?
misskittykats 0 Posted December 17, 2015 No, unfortunately not.
ssnapier 0 Posted December 18, 2015 Disconnect one side of the RS-485 control wire at the DVR and see if that makes it stop. If it does, it sounds like you might have a stuck control someplace.
misskittykats 0 Posted December 18, 2015 Appreciate the help but again I am on vacation and not at the camera location so no can fix if it can't be done remote. But, doesn't matter now. I checked today and the camera has died. Obviously cooked itself after being runaway for 3 days now! Bummer.. I see a new PTZ in the future. Just have to figure out why when it loses power, when it comes back on it goes to the runaway state instead of remaining stable? So, that will be my next question. What causes that? Something in the design or like you say a control sticking? Misskittykats
