h960 h264 dvr monitor display questions

I recently purchased a kkmoon model 1108e dvr that my monitor from my old system displayed the splash screen then" cannot display this mode." it is supposed to be a ntsc system.I also tried it on the hdmi and vga output to my tv and got a similar message. I found a automotive back up camera monitor that automatically switches from pal to ntsc and it works although tiny. I checked the menu and it's set at ntsc Any ideas on why it won't display?The monitor works fine on my old dvr.

I would guess that this doesn't have anything to do with NTSC or Pal, but of the "mode" of resolution. The HDMI output of the DVR is probably 1080 when the TV is probably only capable of 720. Just a guess on that. The VGA, the same thing. The TV may not be capable of processing the higher VGA defaulting out from the DVR.

It probably would, since the boot logo is probably displayed at a lower resolution.
