gurgsnekr 0 Posted December 27, 2015 Hi, I recently inherited a 16 channel DVR with a 2 TB HDD. Unfortunately, I cannot identify who the manufacturer or the model of the dvr. Also unfortunately, the hard drive appears to have a problem. The dvr was reporting that it could not find the hard drive. Can I pull it out and put it in my tower and have windows to format it to lock down any bad sectors and put it back in the dvr? If not would I be able to put a new hard drive in the dvr? Thanks in advance.
GCoco 0 Posted December 28, 2015 The HDD could be not supported/compatible with the DVR. Open the DVR and look for any identifying information on their circuit board and search the Internet. You may get lucky.
negrusti 0 Posted January 4, 2016 Sometimes this problem is caused by the power adapter not supplying enough current due to age or malfunction. You can check the HDD in your computer, no problems, if you don't need the previous recordings.
