Sir Flannel 0 Posted April 18, 2006 There is apparently a problem with some models of digital cameras and camcorders made before 2005. The problem causes the color to smear or the image to go completely black. It affects about 100 models from several manufacturers. A complete list can be found here. Hope this helps someone else. It looks like it's going to save me $200+ I don't know if any CCTV cameras have used this faulty CCD module, but the problem seems to be accelerated with high heat and humidity, so it would probably be noticed much sooner.
