jakesplace 0 Posted April 18, 2006 I have a skyview card and find its unstable because my PC is not dedicated solely to surveillance. I'm considering a change to Alnet pro or a Geo card. Are they any better for my application?
Thomas 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Use the PC for survallence only. It's not going to matter who you are using if you browse the web and pick up a nasty piece of spyware.
crirvine 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Well 1st things 1st a DVR has only one purpose RECORD VIDEO. It is too much strain to use the computer as an office machine and DVR at the same time. You need to doo one or the other not both. You can use a KVM to run 2 towers from one keyboard one mouse and one monitor and switch back and forth between the two. jakesplace 0 Posted April 20, 2006 Thanks for your replies. My system is home use only but its just as important. Point taken.
rory 0 Posted April 20, 2006 If you're going to use a Geo Card for home use and on the same PC, then just get the GV250 ... will work with most chipsets such as Via, and its their cheapest card. Still always best to keep it seperate though.
