Maxxxin 0 Posted January 17, 2016 Hi guys. very very new to cctv but been playing around with some equipment and today decided to take the plunge and install my own CCTV at home, what with all the recent breakins in my area. So here's the problem i'm having, I have installed one camera so far today and using a portable cctv tester I powered on the camera and got a crystal clear picture so I went ahead and ran the cables through to the DVR. Heres where it gets wierd. I cannot for the life of me get a picture up on the channel. It is just distorted, but if i plug the cables into my tester, everything is fine. Has anyone experienced this before and can shed some light on what is wrong please. would be very much appreciated. Regards Maxxxin Just to add, the DVR is an ISECPRO IP-7216V PAL 16 channel H.264 DVR http://security-cameras.en.alibaba.com/product/448642438-222083371/CIF_cctv_network_DVR_16_channel_CLG_7216V.html and the cameras are ISECPRO IP7540PRO PAL IR weatherproof 1/3" COLOR CCD 540TVL with a 4-9mm Lens
SunnyKim 2 Posted January 18, 2016 The DVR board may have a loose contact at the input inteface. Just switch the input port of the DVR for the camera. Or if the cable length from camera is too long over 200 meter, you are likely to have distorted video.
aibudo 0 Posted January 18, 2016 Distorted how? Twisted, double image, dark, etc.?
tomcctv 190 Posted January 18, 2016 Hi. Sounds like a reginal problem PAL or NTCS. your model number says it's a pal system ..... But you might still need to go into dvr settings and pic pal. The other question is where you are located
aibudo 0 Posted January 18, 2016 That's also what I thought might be going on too. Maybe NTSC setting. It was listed as PAL, but,,,,,,
