Black and white/color issues

Recommended Posts

First off sorry if this is in the wrong area.

Now on to the problem.

I had a 4-channel DVR system for a little over a year, the system worked great, I recently upgraded to an 8-channel, the original 4 cameras combined with the new 4 cameras. All 8 cameras are NTSC format, however only the 4 new cameras will show color, the older 4 show black and white, when the DVR is set to NTSC, but if I change the DVR to PAL format the old cameras show color and the new ones go black and white.

The brand of the new 8-channel DVR is DEFEWAY 8 Channel 960H/ 720P AHD DVR and 4 900TVL CCD Outdoor/Indoor Night Vision Home Surveillance Camera System;

New Camera Features

900 TVL Indoor/Outdoor Security Cameras

Image Sensor: 1/4" Color CCD

Effective Pixels:NTSC: 704(H)x480 (V)

6.0mm Lens for wide view angle of 45°

24 pcs Infrared LEDs, Night vision up to 65ft/19.8m

IP 66,Vandalproof design,Outdoor Weatherproof

Housing Material:Aluminum

Aside from the TVL difference (old cameras are 480 TVL) and the camera style they are pretty much the same.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Where did you get that the old system was NTSC? Your old cameras are probably PAL.

The cameras them self has the sticker on them that say NTSC, as well as see above pic.
