beuyntq 0 Posted January 26, 2016 Hello all, I admit I'm completely new to the world of IP Cameras and CCTV in general. I installed a few Hikvision DS-2CD2032F-I for a budget motel recently as a trial to replace their existing (very old and broken) analogue system. So far things are going well, except I'm not able to get a "good" enough quality recording to identify license plates of vehicles as they enter / exit the area. I've tried changing some settings but if anything I seem to be making it worse. Here are the video settings And here is a still shot from the recorded video (through motion detection recording in iSpy) Any suggestions, advice, links to "idiots guide to IP cameras" would be greatly appreciated. Securame 0 Posted January 26, 2016 With a 180x104 screenshot there is not much detail we can see there either. That is a 3MP camera, why are you using only 1280x720? And 8Mbps bitrate...?! Doesn't make any sense, you would be better leaving everything at default if you do not know what you are messing. And that DS-2CD2032F-I might have a 4mm lens. You should change it for one with a 12mm lens.
