masq 0 Posted January 31, 2016 For a while, the camera was working beautifully on a direct Ethernet connection to my router. But something must have changed, and now it refuses to connect to the network unless it's via WiFi. When connecting in LAN mode, I've noticed in SADP that it will not get the IPv4 gateway ip assigned. However, it gets it correctly via WiFi. None of these problems exist for my Hikvison DS-2CD2632 that's on the same network (no wifi on this model). What am i missing?

None of these problems exist for my Hikvison DS-2CD2632 that's on the same network (no wifi on this model). What am i missing? I found the fix, so I thought I'd come back and update. After fiddling around half a day for a solution, I realized that wlan and lan modules built in to the camera carry different MAC ID's. When I set the IPv4 addresses for each of the settings to the same IP, I guess there was an IP collision of sorts that kept prioritizing the wlan connection over lan. So I set the IPv4 address on lan settings different from wlan, and it started working fine.
