Orion 0 Posted April 23, 2006 Anybody tried any face recognition software? I looked around a bit and found this: http://www.identix.com Guess it's pricey though
JMANOFNVS 0 Posted April 23, 2006 Have seen a couple but heard they aren't reliable and can be fooled to easy.
Wachhund 0 Posted April 23, 2006 This stuff is pricey and somewhat unreliable, you can take a look at this site- http://www.security-lab.com/product/face-recognition/
Orion 0 Posted April 23, 2006 hmmm...sounds like this is a dead end. I would like to have something that alerts shopstaffs of known troublemakers/shoplifters, but I guess that printouts are the only sensible option there is. Maybe Geo will implemet something in the future
JMANOFNVS 0 Posted April 23, 2006 The problem with facial recognition is all it takes is some glasses or a hat to throw it off. So they application you are refering to would best be dealt with either a good staff who know the rift raft or somebody monitoring the store constantly. Orion 0 Posted April 23, 2006 There are software that takes care of the glasses/beard/fake nose problem, but what I know they are expensive and not possible to combine with the DVR system. It just would be nice to be able to add that extra sparkle to the DVR system. Well, back to motion tiggered troop mines idea then
eejal 0 Posted October 26, 2006 my previous co had previously installed a few of those facial recognition devices for a co. from my experience..i'd say it's not been perfected just yet. there's a lot of initial problems (yes you read it) and the customer nearly demanded a change of system.. Its by A4 Vision...
