mitch04 0 Posted February 6, 2016 Hi, I have set up a dvr but having issues putting in the IMAP settings into the DVR. I have attached a snapshot off the settings im using. Just using gmail so should be ok. I even tried pingability to test the smtp.gmail.com but thats failing as well. Doesn't this work anymore? Any information would be great Thanks
itaishi 0 Posted February 6, 2016 Dear Mitch, i have exactly the same problem, (your Snapshot is exactly look like mine dvr) my DVR (16 Channels) system is V4.02.R11.31152053.10001 (i guess its chineis , non brand one). Build Date 2013-09-14 14:31:26 NatStatus DisEnable (what id that suppose to mean ????) i can connect to the DVR with my mobile online. i could connect in the past from my PC Online. but i never could email Alert or even TEST. i use Google Email already use : port 25 , to aspmx.l.google.com SMTP SERVER port 465 , with SSL checked, to smtp.gmail.com. (this is google instruction: https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en) (used less secure password: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255) no success at all with sending emails i guess it something with the DVR no properly configured with network. The DVR IP is local and Static, with 8.8.8.8 as the primary DNS Server. i can view the cams in another PC in the LAN . any way to check it? do any of the other "NETSERVICES" must be configured? RTSP? ARSP ? DDNS? PPPOE? FTP? UPNP? NTP? DHCP? maybe must do a firmware update (its very risky an there is no brand behind it).

tomcctv 190 Posted February 6, 2016 The DVR IP is local and Static, with 8.8.8.8 as the primary DNS Server.i can view the cams in another PC in the LAN . Why do you have primary ddns set at google it should be your router IP ..... Your second ddns should be either 8.8.8.8 if that does not work then try 8.8.4.

tomcctv 190 Posted February 6, 2016 I think you are going to make a mistake doing upgrade none brand name But with you only talking LAN and you don't have your primary ddns set to your router. Then it's a network problem . Do you have remote access with external IP away from your system ?
mitch04 0 Posted February 6, 2016 There should be a model number on the bottom off the dvr.

Then it's a network problem . Do you have remote access with external IP away from your system ? 1. i success watch the cams through LAN and WAN And Mobile. that i did with "Port Forwarding" in the router. 2. i realy not successed make the DDNS work proprely, there more than one options in the DDNS . i had to setup my DDNS, in other PC on the LAN, and that way my WAN IP is allways updated OK. i dont think the DDNS is the reason for gmail not working well, hope i mistake. i also think that upgrade firmware in non brand DVR is not so claver idea, but if that the case , i will have to buy another DVR hope to hear some more ideas from you (Expert). thanks. tomcctv 190 Posted February 28, 2016 help... someone? Hi your pictures show your dvr is not on line. Tick DHCP Enable ... Then switch dvr off then on again and see if IP and subnet sets its self primary Dns needs to be your router secondary DNS needs to be 8.8.8.
