Commercial DVRs with snapshot URL

I've pinged folks on this forum for details on how to do a simple web call to get a snapshot from either a Lorex Blackbox series DVR, or a GW series DVR. However, I haven't received any responses.

 

So now I have a re-phrased question:

 

Do folks know of a current commercial DVR that allows me to do a simple web call (with authentication) to get able to get a snapshot? I've I am hoping for something along the lines of the following:

      http://ip_address/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi?user=username&pwd=passwood&channel=2

 

At this point, we are willing to replace our existing DVRs with ones that allow this functionality to enable us to build a custom dashboard.

Probably both Hikvision and Dahua will allow you to do that. Surely Hikvision, but how to do it it will/might vary from firmware to firmware.
