Help about DVR and Dead Scurity camera

H Folks,

 

I have many questions today, it's been many years not posting on the site.

 

I've recently decided to replace my Security camera's and DVR, bought two Samsung camera's last week.

The SCD-5083 arrived dead I think After hooking up power/video the camera just clicks continuously. I have nothing on my monitor and the shutter just clicks.

 

The same channel works perfect on the SCD-2060, but the camera is now discontinued. Should I also return that camera being it's not getting made anymore. B&H is doing an exchange for the SCD-5083 but thought I should ask for more info about the dead camera issue and returning the SCD-2060.

 

My next question is about setting everything up, I had a Kit (Plug & Play) and wasn't aware my options. I was looking at this handheld but don't know the good/bad brands.

Now the DVR I need a 8 Ch unit an want a Brand name, I was looking at this Bosch unit as it supports 1080P but the specs don't mention 1080P

My Security Camera knowledge is low, so sticking with Analog is perfect I was lost on these signal terms

 

AHD

HD-TVI

HD-CVI

HD-SDI

 

 

We don't have any security camera stores locally and everything needs to be bought online, I also can't even find a Bosch/Samsung dealer in Ontario Canada.
