hrishi_mc 0 Posted March 2, 2016 In our apartment block, there are 10 buildings and we have a CCTV solution with a OFC backbone and switches placed in each building. There are cameras connected to these switches and we monitor them at our gate. Over period of time security at each building has become redundant, but they have been kept in the lobby, to ensure timely knowledge of any lift break down or some fire alarm. We would want these alarms when triggered(the hooter gets activated in the lobby) a similar alarm (sound or blinking alarm) gets activated in the gate area. Can we use the existing network as discussed in the first para, to transmit these alarms to the gate and the gatekeeper identify the place of the problem for time resolution? jeromephone 6 Posted March 3, 2016 If you were in the US you would have to have a phone in the elevator to call a central emergency number. I do not know what your requirements are but if you have fiber to the cab you could possibly use some kind of VOIP phone or if you have copper an analog phone.
