smcctv 0 Posted March 7, 2016 Hi, I have router installed in the hallway. I am unable to run a hard cable from the dvr (in loft) to the ground floor (all walls been plastered along with new carpet). The POE adapters work intermittently, any ideas of any other ways to get good connections without intermittent poe issues? Thanks
ben_indo 0 Posted March 8, 2016 You may consider to use Powerline adapter
SeattleBrian 0 Posted March 9, 2016 Ben_Indo, Etherent over powerline sounds feasible. Here's a post covering a solution: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=34762 The house has two phases of 120V. I've heard of some problems when the ethernet powerline data has to reach the other phase. If the AC power in the loft is from the left side of your AC breaker panel, but the NVR in the hallway is powered from the right side of the breaker panel, you might need to take some extra steps.
