Nathan1 0 Posted March 15, 2016 Hello all, I've had a quick browse of the forums and google, but can't seem to find the solution so thought I would create a post and ask the experts! I recently decided to do setup my own CCTV system. Using a Hikvision TVI DVR. The picture is bang on, apart from the odd wavey lines in the corners. (It isn't noticeable during daytime). Things I've tried: Not having it pointed directly at the streetlight opposite, swapped the power supply, (I haven't plugged the camea directly into the monitor just yet, I'm going to try this tomorrow. Does anybody have an ideas? Video noise?/Interference?/How I've wired it? and any potential fixes would be greatly appreciated. I only have x1 camera so far as I was testing quality before I purchased more so I can't test it vs another camera. Thank you Here is a video I uploaded of the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXrmQCWdkHI&feature=youtu.be Items: DVR - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B013QX55DO?ref_=pe_385721_51767431_TE_dp_1 Cable - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006L268R0?ref_=pe_385721_51767431_TE_dp_1 Camera - http://www.cctvkits.co.uk/hikvision-ds-2ce56d1t-it3-1080p-turbo-hd-dome-camera-with-3.6mm-fixed-lens.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjw5Z63BRCLqqLtpc6dk7gBEiQA0OuhsIV8s_jsXlziHnjadtGhIig2JevSSorkILEy6J6NDZwaAn1F8P8HAQ Connectors: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111523418879 Baluns: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262262517280 I apologise for linking the websites for these items, I just wanted to link these incase I had ordered cheap connectors/baluns that could be causing the problems. Thanks again guys ( I Made a thread in the wrong section, so posting it here)
Flossyrockstar 0 Posted March 16, 2016 Those lines you see are called Moire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moiré_pattern Getting rid of em is more difficult, could be cheap cameras (the anti aliasing filter if it has one), harmonic interference on cables or a myriad of other situations. Id start with the camera.
Nathan1 0 Posted March 16, 2016 Thank you for your reply, The strange bit is.. During the daytime with full natural light - the quality is perfect, no wave lines/interference. I've uploaded another clip from this morning, might seem a little off due to my phone camera but its perfect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLTih06Za94&feature=youtu.be strange
Sam228 0 Posted March 18, 2016 Loose connectors? Insufficient amperage? Ground loop? Interference? If it's only happening at night, I imagine it likely has something to do with the IR or the extra power requirement. I don't know if I'd spend any time worrying about your cable, but bringing it indoors and testing it with a separate cable might be a place to start. That will at least tell you if it's environmental or a more direct problem with the hardware. Edit: I just saw you're using Cat6 cable. This is where I tell you that TVI, like CVI, is supposed to use solid copper RG59. That being said, someone is about to have a fit and tell me all about how Hikvision "says" you can use Cat6 cable. I've tried it. It didn't work consistently under any circumstances for me. That's all I'm saying.
jeromephone 6 Posted March 20, 2016 It could be a power problem when IRs kick on (if those cameras have IRs.) Use a standalone power supply and hook directly into a monitor if that is possible or remove all the other cameras from the dvr and see if the problem still is ongoing. Do you know which/where to buy the best power supply that would run x4 cameras? The one I bought was cheap and unbranded off Amazon thank you
