Hikvision DVR 7208HGHI-SH:Unable to reset the Admin Password

Hi,

 

I forgot my HIKVISION DVR Admin password and trying to reset the password with Hikvision Technical Support team. I have already downloaded the SADP Tool (Version v3.0.0.2build20150911) and tried to download the key request XML file from the SADP utility (Screen Shot attached). I am able to see my DVR in the network, But after selecting the location to download when I hit "Export" button, I get a message "Failed to get the key.". After that the file does not gets downloaded. I tried doing wireless (Wifi) and then with wired network, still getting the same result.

 

I am behind the HIKVISION support team since couple of days, but they are not helpful and now they are not responding.

DVR Software Version : V3.3.1build 151020

DSP Version : V5.0, build 151016

 

Can someone help me in downloading this file (So that I can contact the HIKVISION support team once more to get the Import XML file) to my laptop ?

dvr direct connect to pc and run SADP Forget password and mouse click on export button not on confirm button. when ask save on give path for file saving.

Hi,

I was told by the Hik technical support, the old sadp password

reset policy has been removed from the newer firmware, the

only way to reset them over a network is with the .XML file.

I have a few of these Hikvision cameras that will not let me use the default username and password out of the box.

 

I have tried three different versions of the SADP tool.

 

Version 3.0.0.100

Version 3.0.0.9

Version 2.2.3.6

 

None of them will export the xml file to generate a new password, have anyone ever ran into this before.

hello all I had to learn this the hard way. When you connect to the box and try to obtain the xml file to reset the password it's not going to work unless the box is connected to a switch or a device with internet connection. I faced the same issue and tried it in the office with internet connection and it worked. Somehow some way it probably connects to Hikvision server to generate the xml for a password reset. So when try with a direct connection to the dvr or Nvr without internet it will keep giving you an error. Hope this helps.
