tby 0 Posted March 18, 2016 Hi, My unit above has the warning buzzer going on all the time and does not start up or show any video on the monitor, checked power, ok, HDD is ok, is there a hardware re-set somewhere on the board?, worked fine until yesterday when the video stopped and that buzzer started. Thanks.
tby 0 Posted March 23, 2016 Update, I took unit into Maplin where I had purchased it about 2 years ago, told them I wanted some info on the factory re-set procedure if possible, they said it might not be getting enough current to start up properly, he produced a digital meter and proceeded to measure the DC voltage, Ohms law must not be one of the subjects for Maplin employee's, I just did not have the heart to tell him I had already tested it on my Workshop Thurlby/Thandar PSU and had eliminated lack of voltage or insufficient current as the problem, I am trying to get a schematic from the manufactures, but no luck so far in locating them. I had a spare unit of different manufacture pressed into service so down time is not a problem.
Matt_TVS 0 Posted April 28, 2016 Hi Ignore what maplins said. My first suggestion is with it being 2 years old, your HDD (hard drive) is faulty. Avtech DVR's check the HDD when they load up, and if its faulty the dvr wont load up. Your probably out of warranty now, so open up the DVR so you can see the HDD inside, and disconnect the HDD Sata cable from the HDD. Put power back in the DVR and see if it loads up. If it loads up, then without question your hard drive is faulty.
