atomicnumber 0 Posted March 21, 2016 My customer needs 4 cameras looking at 4 conveyor lines. The camera will be looking at labels on the product from about 6-8ft away. Each camera is going to be viewed from its own monitor via CAT5 and baluns, and no DVR. 2.8-12mm cameras do not get close enough. They want to see a really close up view of these labels, kind of like a casino would look really close at a blackjack players hand. Also, after trying out the 2.8-12mm cameras we had, we noticed the light above the conveyors was washing out the labels. All you see is white. I need to be able to access the OSD from the camera itself to set contrast, brightness, etc. What type of cameras would you guys recommend that will give me this close up view and also allow me to access the OSD? Cameras that dont need a special controller/remote are preferred, but Ill still use one if required. Thanks! EDIT: I just realized this thread may have been better suited for the Analog camera section. Please move this and sorry for any inconvenience
phillipscctv 0 Posted March 21, 2016 Use a box style camera with 6-60 MM lens. the toss 0 Posted March 22, 2016 If you are only reading labels and colour is of no importance then consider getting a good quality black/white camera. When colour information doesn't have to be processed you can get much higher contrast / resolution by going B/W
