Hello from a sunny Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK.

 

I don't know why I didn't look for a forum such as this before I actually purchased my CCTV system, but there you go!

 

OK, I recently purchased a Swann NVR8-7285 recorder with 4 NHD-806 cameras for my guest house. I have an issue with not being able to hear audio from any of the cameras that I was hoping someone might be able to help with.

 

I have an old VGA monitor plugged into the NVR box - it's only when I read the instruction manual from the Swann website that I discovered audio requires an HDMI connection - great!

 

I have contacted Swann tech support, but to be honest, I'm not sure if they actually understand what my problem is, so no real help there.

 

I have a Samsung android tablet that I can also use to view live images with the SwannLink app, but I can't get video playback working on that for some reason - so no audio there either.

 

I don't really want to have to purchase a new monitor with an HDMI connection - I've seen VGA - HDMI adapters on ebay, but will they work does anyone know?

 

Any ideas/comments gratefully received.
