Installation Pan/Tilt CCTV

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm a total noob when it comes to connecting these camera's could someone please help me diagnose my problem.

Camera's: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1200TVL-Outdoor-Sony-Cmos-Pan-Tilt-P-T-Dome-Night-Vision-IR-Security-CCTV-Camera-/371418300307? ( I know they are cheap and probably crap)

DVR: Digimerge DH200 4channel

I'm trying to connect two of these Pan/tilt cameras to this DVR and have the ability to focus and pan horizontally and vertically.

initial camera setup : set dip switch for camera 1 to channel 12 camera 2 to 13, set to 2400 baud

The problem I'm having is one camera pans horizontally 350deg but will not pan vertically at all and the other camera will pan vertically 90deg but not pan horizontally...I've connected both to suitable power, rs485 outputs from both cameras have been merged +/- and plugged into back of dvr rs485 Tx+/-.

In the DVR menu I've selected Pelco D 2400 baud and set camera one to channel 12 and camera two to 13.

Any ideas what could be happening here?

make sure your protocols are set on the dvr the same as the cameras do one at a time. a lot of ptzs use pelco p with a 9600 baud rate. look in your manuals as to how the ptzs need to be wired you may have the cables flip flopped at some point.
