bikemunki 0 Posted March 25, 2016 Hi guys, my hikvision 7104 wont allow me to add any of my ip cameras. I keep getting "unknown error" when I try. Its the same with a hikviosion dome camera as well as the pod cam. I have tried via wifi and cabled and just get the same result. Both cameras work fine stand alone, but the dvr refuses to add them. Any ideas? Thanks

If it is a NVR, make sure the cameras are working at a resolution that is supported by the NVR.
bikemunki 0 Posted March 26, 2016 Hi, yes sorry it is indeed an NVR that says it supports 5mp cameras and my highest quality one is 4mp. I can list and see the cameras on the NVR menu, but trying to add them into the record list creates "unknown error"
Securame 0 Posted March 27, 2016 Again, what model? I would say DS-71xx NVR series are limited to 2Mp.
bikemunki 0 Posted March 27, 2016 Hi, its a 7104ni/SW says 5mp on the box. I think it's a password issue, the NVR doesn't seem to like the alphanumeric passwords that the cameras require. Maybe?

babiskarg 0 Posted April 23, 2016 Maybe firmware update, solve your problem. What is your firmware version ? The newest firmware version is V2.3.8 build151226 . And check ip of cameras . You must add the cameras manually.
