Suprub93 0 Posted April 15, 2016 Hello, I am new here with no experience in this field. I am planning to buy my custom build camera system, should I do cctv or poe? I'm leaning towards Poe as it maybe simpler to setup and less costly, please advise. If Poe is my best route, what are the items I will need to complete it and make it work, (ex poe switch, software, etc.)
captainvideo 0 Posted April 16, 2016 There are several things that you failed to mention . 1.budget 2.how many camera's 3.your technical ability 4.location An ip or network camera system will be the most expensive and require the most technical ability. However it will give you the most options and highest resolution recording available . An hd-tvi dedicated system will be the least expensive and require the least technical ability . However it will only record up to 1080p or 2 megapixel. Still an excellent choice .pretty much Plug and play . Also allows for cable runs up to 1500' . Hikvision makes very good quality ip & hd-tvi equipment I would stay away from the all in one box type systems found in costco, sams, home depot etc . I would also stay away from amazon, ebay, etc. I recommend finding a local supply house or two .they usually sell the real stuff not look alike Black market junk Good luck and don't rush
Suprub93 0 Posted April 18, 2016 Budget: $300 Cameras: 3-4 Tech ability: low Location: outdoor Any recommendations for the hd-tvi to buy online?
Suprub93 0 Posted April 18, 2016 With Hd-tvi will I be able to access it from my phone?
tomcctv 190 Posted April 18, 2016 Budget: $300Cameras: 3-4 Tech ability: low Location: outdoor Any recommendations for the hd-tvi to buy online? $300 will not get you 3-4 camera system To keep it simple for you a NVR with built in Poe and 4 cameras Tvi or cvi is your cheapest option but you will need a dvr for what ever format you go
Suprub93 0 Posted April 18, 2016 Can you please recommend sort of like a shopping list of the items I will need to buy for cvi or tvi. Will either option support mobile app view? I would also like to get cameras that can rotate the image.
captainvideo 0 Posted April 20, 2016 Hd-cvi dvr https://www.123securityproducts.com/ctw-hcvr7104h-v2.html Hd-cvi camera's https://www.123securityproducts.com/products/cameras/cctv-cameras/hd-cameras.html?any_cs_cam_camera_environment=2565&any_cs_cam_lens_focal=2530&product_technology=6412&manufacturer=29 Hd-tvi dvr. https://www.123securityproducts.com/products/recorders/hybrid-cctv-ip/hvr-hardware.html?any_analog_video_channels=1322 Or https://www.123securityproducts.com/products/recorders/analog-cctv/hd-dvr.html?any_analog_video_channels=1322&product_technology=6354 Hd-tvi camera's https://www.123securityproducts.com/products/cameras/cctv-cameras/hd-cameras.html?product_technology=6354&any_cs_cam_camera_environment=2565&any_cs_cam_lens_focal=2530 I'm not telling you to purchase from this supply house .unless you live close to them . Find a local supply house .that's always better, faster, easier in the long run Use the links to get started researching brands , specs , etc The hd-cvi dvr is a dahua dvr rebadged as cantek for this supply house . The point is that dahua makes hd-cvi. Hd-cvi camera's only work with hd-cvi dvr's Hd-tvi camera's only work with hd-tvi dvr's Don't forget about the hard drive ,monitor ,siamese cable , power supply ,bnc connectors ,etc. Yes you will be able to view your camera's on your cell phone ,tablet ,laptop too. You will need to be able to forward some ports in your router to access any dvr remotely. Double your budget and you will have a sweet system that will last .
