qman 0 Posted May 31, 2004 Hey guys Got my hands on a avermedia 5000mp 4 port card. Problem lies in that when I plug in a cam to any of the ports, the image is ALL screwed up, like an old cable tv that is being messed up by the cable company. Now, one thing that I think it could be is that the video card in that machine is very old, an old matrox 8 meg AGP. I don't think that the card is bad, I have used it before, but I don't know what it could be.
loop 0 Posted May 31, 2004 What exactly do you mean in "all screwed up..."? It's probably the video card. But try to disable all other cameras. In Aver's Eyes-Pro, if you only connect one camera, you won't see an image until you disable the other three. Other problems might be chipset incompatability (usually with non Intel chipsets) and color depth setting (change between 16/32 bit).
cctv_down_under 0 Posted June 1, 2004 Spot on Loop man!!! keep in mind to check that you have not insatlled say PAL version when you should be using NTSC as this can have that affect, also check that the cameras do not have power up the coax.
