doppelt 0 Posted May 19, 2016 Hi Help please We have used Geovision for a decade, no issues. but our Telus ISP connection sucks because of bad architecture in the business' building we were getting about 5 Mb/s download, 0.3 Mb/s upload now we are changing ISP's and as of tomorrow, will be getting 30 Mb/s download, but the important one is we are getting 5 Mb/s upload which we want for remote camera viewing we have 16 cams on motion detect and I 'think' we save away more than 300 Gb in a 25 days period on the HD before it recycles here is my question: Our ISP just told me that our new plan has a 300 Gb data cap I asked them if we exceed that, will we not be able to remotely view our cameras? they said no, we would just get an alert do you think this is going to be an issue? and does the upload data only count as uploaded data when we are remotely logged in and viewing? thanks Dennis
doppelt 0 Posted May 19, 2016 well update: I just called my old ISP and they said that over the last few months, our max data use was 200 Gigs my new cap is 300, so I am ok and, I also heard that in Canada, the CRTC has ordered ISP's not to disrupt people's service if they go over thanks
