Newbie question

good day, I am a newbie to CCTV systems and since my son was targeted by a group of teens, he had his tires slashed and a few other problems I am finding I need cameras.

I am on a budget and am looking at a Zosi system I have a couple questions

1. can I run a DVR without a HDD and use my portable HD instead and can I use a laptop with the HD connected and connect to the DVR.

How many cameras do you need and your budget

Im in Saskatchewan and my budgets around 300

I found this for under 3, Q-See 4-channel 720p HD Security System with 1TB HDD and 4 HD 720p Weatherproof Cameras

Hi. I know your budget is 300 but if you can go a little higher this is better than the q-see.

 

Even tho they are both made by the same company the lorex has better software.

Yes they are if same as above links CVI

 

but also need to look at support the lorex camera are better and you also get to use there services
