Recommended Posts

i have a continuing problem with a ptz i have it linked to a DVR and the presets and alarm activation from a genisis is also run through the dvr during the day the ptz functions perfectly however first thing in the morning it is facing the ground if i reboot the system (ie turn it off and on ) it goes back to working fine i have checked the voltage and amps at the camera end and there is no loss, as its overnight could it be the extra amps for the IR are effecting the camera

Hi. I think you are right as in power at night.

Tour + IR + zoom is when the PTZ is drawing it's max power.

And with your PTZ being at its home position is also a sign of loss of power or lack of it. But if you look back on your footage most PTZ when they go into home mode also display the PTZ settings on the screen.

For a quick test to see if power ..... Do a temp setting and have the PTZ stay in one location and also not allow it to zoom and then see if you have the same problem next morning.

Also for future ref home setting is built in to the PTZ and on most units you can change the home setting ...... I would change it to looking at your car or front door which is better than at the ground
