kandcorp 0 Posted May 18, 2006 Has anyone had any experience with PCI-Express DVR Cards? Here is one in particular that I have been looking at(http://www.softwell.com.tw/english/we1x08p.htm) Though they sell a pink stand alone (http://www.softwell.com.tw/english/standalone.htm) so I dont know. rory 0 Posted May 18, 2006 that pink one just lost their credibility .. Anyway, the card is still software compression so its nothing new really .. And moreso .. its linux // Arghh ... it uses a DOM instead of a HDD, still not embedded and not RTOS ..
febulous15 0 Posted May 18, 2006 Lol, i m building 30+ DVR systems using this softwell card. Erm, basically their NDMS feature is the strong point, but the DVR itself there's nothing much to brag about. Also, the response is a bit jerky, GUI is not attractive, picture quality is a bit so-so only. Yet, as I have said, the good thing is their NDMS feature only. Thomas 0 Posted May 18, 2006 I have played with a PCI-E hardware compression card. It doesn't seem to differ from thier PCI cousins (since the software was ours side by side) except for the notching on the bottom.
febulous15 0 Posted May 18, 2006 whats the NDMS feature? Read this.... http://www.softwell.com.tw/english/central.htm
Micro Jordan 0 Posted May 26, 2006 GeoVision probably have PCI express cards. not on it's web information yet. But should be available soon I guess. They are the market leader I think anyway. Huperlab has several PCI express DVR cards. I'm not sure they can recording 480FPS, but they claim to have better image quality using PCIe cards. Software recording probably need a high end PC spec, dual core CPU something. Should calculate for cost before using it. Provideo have 2 or 3 several PCI express DVR cards, I found them on Globalsources.com Softwell have PCI express DVR cards, maybe good for linux systems. Is anyone know Linux system support PCI express performance? I didn't see PCI express card from China sources. even Korean sources. Probably more manufacturing experience in Taiwan on PCI express.
