sonicboom 0 Posted June 6, 2016 I run a small IT business and have a customer that asked me a question about their IP security cameras. I have a little bit of experience with them and offered to help them find a solution. They have purchased 4 network security cameras. 3 are Foscam FI9821W-V2 and 1 is a Hikvision DS-2CD2032. They are all working fine. They have been using then to just monitor the door when someone walks in or if someone buzzes the shipping door. Now, they want to be able to record and asked me which one to buy. Normally I would think whatever brand the cameras are I would get that. Mostly because you would think it has to be compatible. In other words Foscam camera / Foscam NVR. However they have a mix of brands and I just wondered if there is one out there that will work with cameras from different brands. I mentioned putting in a computer running BlueIris or some other software solution but they aren't interested in that mostly due to cost and space. Are there any standalone NVR systems that will do this?
