Garyv 0 Posted June 29, 2016 I do not know much about surveillance cameras. I have a area around 300' away with no inline obstruction in the way. I need a wireless outdoor camera to see the activities in that area. I can get ac power to that area. I can't get any supporting cables to that area. How can I watch on computer, i phone , hear, speak if possible to that area via camera. Would a router have to be close to the camera? Thanks Gary
dflick 0 Posted July 5, 2016 Are you sure about the 300'? That is a long way! For that kind of distance, you may be better off looking into a point to point wireless bridge as I highly doubt that any wireless camera alone would have the range and sensitivity to support a connection that far. Ubiquiti makes bridges and would be a good fit. FOr about $130.00 plus any pole mounts you need, this will give you connection between the 2 locations. https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-Nanostation-Outdoor-5GHz-locoM5/dp/B00HG1CTDW/ref=pd_lpo_147_tr_t_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=C3DC068TPPQ19JYYMWWM You could then purchase any wired camera that would be suitable for your location. Garyv 0 Posted July 6, 2016 The accurate distance from where base would sit to camera is 275' only a window between. Would that make a difference? Thanks for the reply
