nibu 0 Posted July 25, 2016 I am no expert, but I've purchased a couple of basic security systems in the past but nothing has really met my requirements. I'm also not even sure that what I want actually exists. I have tried to research and look around, but I'm a bit overwhelmed with the options. I've purchased two camera systems in the past, but they are just not good enough for what I want. I would really appreciate if someone who knows about such things would be willing to help me. Here's what I'm looking for: I want to be able to monitor my whole house when I'm away. I frequently have to travel for work and also have two large dogs that I have people come to my house to care for when I can't instead of boarding them. I need to make sure that the people I hire to take care of them are actually doing so (and not robbing me in the process - something I unfortunately witnessed this past weekend). I want at least 4 pan/tilt cameras for an outdoor environment, 2 for indoors, and the option to add at least 4 additional cameras (not necessarily pan/tilt). I want the video quality to be good, good enough to make out a face, and to have respectable night vision for every camera. I want to be able to view remotely (as reliably as possible) and also record via DVR for a decent amount of time, at least a week of good quality (enough to make out a face). I also want to be able to listen to what is going on, and it would be great if I also had the option to speak remotely through the cameras if needed. Does this exist? I would really appreciate some advice. I first purchased a somewhat crappy Uniden system that has just 2 still cameras and I had to call in to Skype, leaving my home PC on, to see anything. Next I used a D-Link system, which was ok (how I caught a person, guest of my dog watcher, going through my bedroom and office while I was away). But now I realized I need more recording ability (I am often in meetings, etc. and don't want to be always creeping on my house - just want to know I have the ability to know what's going on if needed). If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it so much.
