explurium 0 Posted August 17, 2016 Hello guys! I tried installating 8 CCTVs using CAT6 cord and 16 Channel 20Amp power distribution box. When i turned them on, the video output were "rainy" and distorted. There were horizontal lines popping up... we used less than 150 meters of CAT6 cord in the process. I dont think that the cameras are the problem since if thats the case there were will only be 1 or 2 distortions but on this case...all cameras have distortions. Any comments on possible cause? Did i used the correct Amps for the powerbox? Many Thanks!
jeromephone 6 Posted August 18, 2016 A little more info please what kind of power supply are you using baluns I am guessing you are using analog cameras? did you test each camera by disconnecting all the others?
tomcctv 190 Posted August 18, 2016 Hi sounds like a regional problem is your dvr set for PAL OR NTSC
explurium 0 Posted August 18, 2016 I have a 1.3MP AHD CCTVs and i used a 20amp centralized power box with 12V output. All cameras were okay and functioning well. We didn't use baluns for all cameras. I thought that maybe the CAT6 wire is can't deliver enought power. Additional info : When infrared kicks in, there were some "rainbow" color lines in the picture. We tried switching between NTSC and PAL but nothing happned. We tested the cameras by unplugging the one by one but distortion remains.
