dazzagtir 0 Posted August 24, 2016 Hi, I am new to this page as of about 30 seconds ago.... this is my first post. My question to the elites is.... I have a Swann pro-series 960H kit fitted to my house (cheap and cheerful) it is the 8 channel DVR with build in "alarm" this kit has been successfully fitted to my house for about 2 years now. I wanted to upgrade a couple of the cameras so bought 2 types.... Both being QVIS TVI, one is the P400-TVI2-FG 2.2MP bullet camera and the other is the Motoreye-TVI2-VFG. I have replaced the old swann wiring with all new shotgun cables. problem I am having is that the eyeball works fine when connected but the bullet camera does not show up any picture, I have tested using a handheld monitor and it does the same, I then tested it using someone else's Qvis DVR and it works perfectly. Any reasons why the bullet camera is non compatible with my handheld monitor and also my Swann DVR? thanks in advance. Darrell.
tomcctv 190 Posted August 24, 2016 Hi. Your swan unit is standard analog so you can not run TVI cameras. Your p400 is duel output tvi or standard analog your dome is tvi only so you will not get a image. On your p400 you are not seeing it's true image and they are very good cameras You will need to change your recorder .... Take a look at qvis Quattro. The Quattro will run your existing cameras and also tvi and IP
dazzagtir 0 Posted August 24, 2016 Tom, Thanks for the advice. Thats Mega.! Exactly the infomation that I wanted to hear in regards to why it wont work. I have a conundrum now as to what to do, my Swann has the wireless home alarm system connected to it and it brilliant to keeping my house armed when I am away. I cant imagine Qvis do a similar product so I will probably just tuck the Swann away but keep it connect for the wireless alarm and then invest in what you have sugested.! Kind regards. Darrell. tomcctv 190 Posted August 24, 2016 Hi Darrell. Yes you can connect swan alarm to qvis or any other with recorder with output switches on it and you will still have control of your alarm with the qvis app
dazzagtir 0 Posted August 25, 2016 Thank you Tom. Thats Mega, I will look into it more in detail now. I was under the illusion that a wireless swann alarm would be incompatible unless it was a wired system. Kind regards. Darrell
