IGWright 0 Posted September 8, 2016 Hello Everybody, I'm new to the forum, and between beginner and intermediate in terms of my understanding of Security Cameras and Networking. I recently bought this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-Pan-Tilt-HD-720P-Security-IP-Camera-Night-Vision-Surveillance-Webcam-/351745152864 It's associated with a freeware by a company called CMS. I'm looking at Blue Iris for the software portion of my property security, running on a dedicated computer, but I can't seem to find the IP address for this camera. I contacted the eBay vendor, and this is how that correspondence went: Me: How do I find the domain and IP Address for this camera? Them: Thanks for your message, the ip address is your network address, it have the manual in the parcel, could you checkit? So that's that. With my Tenvis, which is a similarly priced camera, it came with a software app that found the camera and gave me the IP address. From there I was able to get into the GUI and edit the camera settings. This camera, I'm able to find it with the CMS, but the editing of the camera settings is cryptic and limited. Let me know. I appreciate any input. Ian
tomcctv 190 Posted September 8, 2016 Hi. That camera is a p2p setup ....(on Chinese server) Also you will not get that to work on blue iris. $27 it is only a 5v webcam ....... Look at dahua hik or something that is worth buying
IGWright 0 Posted September 10, 2016 Thank-you for getting back to me. So I gather the P2P is a security concern? What I'm looking at is a wireless indoor pan tilt to watch my garages through the kitchen window. Eventually, I'll run a CAT5 out to it, but I wanted to get the wireless so I can get up and running. Do you have any recommendations? In the meantime I'll put the P2P back up on eBay! LOL Ian
