tomcctv 190 Posted September 11, 2016 Please read my earlier post subject ahd ptz problem on the 10th hi im totally new and not very camera savy. i have cctv cameras already and they work fine, but i decided to had a ptz camera to it then was informed that it will only work on a ahd dvr so i have purchased one. now im all set no the camera will not work i check all wires their fine, so i put it all back together still no joy but i see the infa reds are on and its daylight. so i do checks and i plug the adaptor straight into the ptz camera and it moves on its own ive seen this before and i know its good so i just connect the bnc and ptz cable to the dvr and i have pictures so i know the camera works, so now i plug the adaptor which is a 12v back onto the 30 metre cable and again no movement just the infa red lights again so i unplug and check the adaptor power which reads 12.30 i connect the cable and check the end and the power is 12.30 so that works so why when i add the camera it all goes pete tong any ideas thanks hope what i said makes sense Hi can you give amp size of power supply also what cable size is the 30m To test it is a power problem use a 30m extension lead and put power closer to camera
