jase888 0 Posted September 15, 2016 First time setting up a CCTV system so need little advice if my solution is suitable, I have 4 IP Cameras (will add more in future) and need them to record 31 days footage and have an offsite backup. My solution was..... 1) Have a DVR box recording the cameras on site 2) Have a PC offsite (but on the same network via a VPN) recording using some software like BlueIris Not sure this is the right way to do it as its 2 different systems. Do DVRs have an easier way to backup to a PC on the same network without the extra cost of purchasing PC recording software (like BlueIris), the backup needs to be pretty much live though and not a task running daily. Thanks for help
ChengXin 0 Posted September 16, 2016 Sorry posted the wrong reply on the wrong thread. The easiest solution for your requirement is to buy cameras that support both local recording and cloud recording. C1) Have a DVR box recording the cameras on site A1. Ok. C2) Have a PC offsite (but on the same network via a VPN) recording using some software like BlueIris A2. Will most likely have issue due to high bandwidth required in remote recordings.
