I wanted to reduce some work for you guys in order to get a faster answer, but you're right; I have no idea where to start. I'm looking for the best budget DVR with 16 channels. It should accept the old analog cameras but with an option to upgrade them for digital ones later on. Use: grocery store surveillance. Every suggestion is very welcome! You might be better looking at IP cameras and NVR ....
