sdiamond808 0 Posted September 20, 2016 I was recommended night owl analog HD. Was told that night owl makes a good product, better than cheap in house cameras. Anybody know anything about night owl? Specifically this package http://nightowlsp.com/products/complete-security-systems/hd-security-systems/8-channel/hda10l-10bu-841.html . Was told that not all IP cameras are compatible so analog HD works better. I also read LPS is a good system. Can anybody help? Thanks,
tomcctv 190 Posted September 20, 2016 Hi. Don't listen to people who only want to sell you there products Take a look at your link .... The camera does not match the recorder There is nothing wrong with going IP ... Infact your other post you had a quote for $1.200 for analog HD Going IP with POE NVR then it's just plug and play one cable from camera to dvr Don't waste money go IP you could install something like this over a weekend https://www.lorextechnology.com/hd-ip-security-camera-system/8-channel-hd-security-camera-system-with-ip-cameras/HDIP88DW-1-p
jesseallen 0 Posted September 22, 2016 Have to agree with tomcctv here. You can't just pick up any brand that you find. A good surveillance system needs a lot of thought and research to get it right. And btw, it is better to go with IP cameras than analog HD. With analog cameras, you will miss out on a lot of essential features. Plus, there are a lot of good brands that provide quality solutions for small budgets. Research them.
