rccctv 0 Posted September 22, 2016 One camera to begin with then others. To mount to my TV antenna steel pole, about 20 ft off the ground, surveilling a side of my property, over my fence and little ways out, maybe 50ft or more unto a public street. Connectin directly to my router via Cat 5/RJ45. Like these: CCC Security Pros #CSP-IPAD3 but has no mounting bracket. http://www.cctvsecuritypros.com/inouhdip3med.html Foscam # FI 9961EP no mounting bracket; concerns about their support. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/272380876287?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true Would like to keep under $300 for this one camera. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks
R0tten 0 Posted October 19, 2016 If I were you, I'd spend just a little bit more and get PTZ as well a "well renown" name branded camera: https://www.amazon.com/Hikvsion-megapixel-DS-2CD2F52F-Security-Waterproof/dp/B01LAPRZ9C ~$
51cent 8 Posted October 20, 2016 +1 on the ptz idea, but I don't believe that the DS-2CD2F52F-IS is a ptz camera. Also, the claimed ir distance is 10 m, and in reality is probably a lot less. The add is somewhat deceiving/confusing. I would look for something like the Dahua SD22204T-GN, a 4x ptz but with no ir. It is quality and affordable. When you buy from China/e bay etc you may not have much of a warranty, and may cost a lot to send back for any problems. Another thing, make sure your mounting pole is sturdy with no flexing/swaying. Even a little sway will set off motion detect or drive you crazy while viewing.
rccctv 0 Posted October 20, 2016 Thank you both for the response. I think the Dahua would have been perfect for me but already bought a 4Ch 4Cam set up.
