Chapmag 0 Posted September 29, 2016 Hi, I'm new to this arena and I am looking to design and specify a Home CCTV so any help will be welcome. I'm based in the south of England. I have a very specific requirement in that I want a 4 camera (motion activated) system. One camera on each corner of my property (shielded so as not to encroach on neighbours). I plan to record up to 1 TB of data but would like it to over write automatically from the start of the recording when full. Mainly to be used at night as we are both retired and around during the day so CCTV is not essential in day light hours. I'd also like to be able to access the recording whilst away from home. Could someone point me at the most appropriate part of the forum to begin my journey? Thanks in anticipation. G.

tomcctv 190 Posted October 16, 2016 Helpful lot aren't you!!! NOT!!! Hi. Before you learn about CCTV ..... Learn how forums work There not 24hr help lines .... You have to wait till someone reads your post. So start again South of England .... What is your budget ?? I would look at a 4 way IP system .... Will you be doing the install yourself ? Thank you for your reply and my apologies for thinking a 17 day response time was unusual. Many of the other forums I'm involved in are perhaps a bit more responsive. In answer to you question... I'd prefer a hard wired system to the recorder but obviously the recorder would have to be linked to the Internet for remote access. Budget wise.. it's a domestic set up so I'd like to spend under £300. Would be grateful for any input or pointers you can provide. Thanks in anticipation and sorry if I got off on the wrong foot!!! G. P.S. Sorry I didn't answer your question... yes I will be installing the system myself.

I visited QVIS today (they are 3 miles from my front door). Jon on their trade counter were extremely helpful running through a number of options with me and I left with a Sentient Superior Security 8 Channel, 4 Camera High Res 960H CCTV System. Comes with Facial Recognition (which I don't need and will switch off to save Disk Space). Thanks again. G.
