LittleScoobyMaster 0 Posted June 3, 2006 Can anyone recommend a good solar powered infra red illuminator? I'm looking for something like this: http://www.hammacher.com/publish/71950.asp?source=Nextag&keyword=71950&cm_ven=NewGate&cm_cat=Nextag&cm_pla=HOME%20SOLUTIONS&cm_ite=71950 Only one that turns on an infra red illuminator instead of a spotlight. Does anything like that exist yet? If not, I wonder if I should get a patent on it?
securitymonster 0 Posted June 3, 2006 just hook up a 12V infrared illuminator to a seperate solar panel with a backup battery. Does it absolutely have to be incorporated?

WirelessEye 0 Posted June 6, 2006 Extreme CCTV already has solar powered systems with IR illuminators, however they come with a Camera too. You might be able to do what you're talking about, but the illumination range would be almost nil.
kensplace 0 Posted June 7, 2006 And if its a dull, overcast day, without much sunlight, then you probably wont have any juice for the night.
