AK_Apex 0 Posted October 8, 2016 Well this is a doozy, I have two buildings on my property.. I would like both to be monitored. The house is prewired with power and RG59 for cameras. The shop is not.. NOW: onto my problem. The conduit in between my house and shop is full, and I have no interest in digging a new trench, as I live in Alaska so it has to be four feet deep to prevent damage from frost..Additionally, I don't want to rip drywall out of my walls to run cat6 for IP system in the house.. It would seem as though my best bet is a hybrid type system..being analog in the the house, and POE in the shop..I have seen 4 channel transceivers that convert analog to Cat6, but that runs $500 and how would I decode at the other end? I would like to just have 1 DVR.. Does anyone see anything that I am missing that would make this setup possible?
the toss 0 Posted October 8, 2016 Your "4 channel transceivers" are actually quad baluns. You use one at each end and they should run out to about $40 each
