jack111 0 Posted June 4, 2006 I cannot access the geovision webcam server when I have the window xp sp2 firewall activated. Minute I disable the firewall everything works well. I have forwarded the ports 80 3550 4550 5550 in the router. I have set up port filtering allowing the above ports in TCP. Disabling port filtering does not make any difference to access. In the firewall in exceptions I have allowed the above ports and allowed all the programs like geovison webcam server . Any ideas how I can resolve this. rory 0 Posted June 4, 2006 though you dont need the firewall on when you use Port Filtering, if you do have it on, you need to allow these Programs located in the Geo Folder.. DMWebCam.exe - for the webcam TCPsvr.exe - for the MultiView Program
Doug 0 Posted June 4, 2006 Go to the windows firewall settings and add the ports in the "exceptions" section Doug I cannot access the geovision webcam server when I have the window xp sp2 firewall activated. jack111 0 Posted June 5, 2006 Thank you for your replies. What puzzles me is I have already added the programs and ports mentioned to the exceptions list and yet the minute I activate the firewall i can no longer view the webcam server. port added were 80 3550 4550 5550 the webcam server is set to run on port 80. also allow all associated programs webcamserver.exe dmwebcam.exe tcpsvr.exe ddns service [as using the dipmap and gotdns.com facility] In the end had to disable the firewall and just use only the port filtering. But had a great time showing it off to friends. But now they think I must have done some dodgy dealings . So if I have set up port filtering is the windows firewall totally unneccassary. Also in my linksys router under security I have firewall protection set to enbabled and the below enabled Filter Multicast and Filter IDENT(Port 113)
