cyboyeee 0 Posted June 7, 2006 I cannot seem to get the remote view program to log onto the server PC. The two PCs are inside my house, and share the same router. Both are XP Pro. The server is running the Remote Viewer server program. Is there a standard guide to setting up the parameters, logins, passwords, etc. Also, I tried connecting to the PC running the Geovision software (vesrion 8 btw) and it prompts me for connection speed and compression type and it hangs up IE browser when i enter the user/password info. Help would be very appreciated as the manual is light on info. Rob
ezCCTV 0 Posted June 8, 2006 I would imagine this is down to firewall settings. Try turning off all firewall software, including Windows XP firewall, and try again. To test your security settings, you can try the following from the client PC START>RUN "cmd" telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx For example, if your GeoVision system is running on 192.168.0.100, you would need to try the following telnet 192.168.0.100 80 - for the HTTP port telnet 192.168.0.100 4550 - for the command port telnet 192.168.0.100 5550 - for the data port If the screen clears, and you get a flashing cursor, then the port is open If you get the following screen, then something is blocking the port The RemoteView application uses the port 3550 Try this and get back to us. cyboyeee 0 Posted June 8, 2006 ok, ports 80, 4550, and 5550 all connect. However, port 3550 doesn't. Firewalls are off as far as I can tell. Any other ideas? Also, I can go to the IP of the server PC using IE, and it asks for user and password. I enter Supervisor and my password, hit eneter and then it just sits there at the login doing nothing as if locked up. Windows reports after a while that the program is not responding. Any ideas? cyboyeee 0 Posted June 8, 2006 Got the Remote Viewer program to work. Windows firewall wasn't disabled on server. Still having problems logging through the IE web method though.
