eastsider 0 Posted November 3, 2016 Im new to the security world. I have a question on lighting with your security camera set up. I live in a cape cod with one camera mounted to each dormer and one camera mounted above my front door. The door camera faces a light post, when viewing the camera at night it very bright and has a halo ring. We have adjusted the camera setting with not fix. We enjoy having the light post on for security but cant stand the camera clarity. Is there a bulb I can change to to keep the light and have a better quality view with the camera. Is there a better way to light the house without lowering the quality of the camera view?
almelst 1 Posted November 3, 2016 Using WDR (wide dynamic range) camera could help, but don't expect too much. I think that ring is not caused by the lamp post, it's effect of camera's IR light. Try blocking the light post view or covering it, and you will probably still have that ring.

willyb 0 Posted December 27, 2016 To me, it looks like the IR is reflecting inside the dome. Make sure the seal around the lens is on properly. After just noticing the view with the light off I am sure that is the issue.
