bazzle 0 Posted December 19, 2016 Hi all. Stuck with an issue on 2 Mini NVR's N6200-4E and N6200-8E Both units have now got the same problems. After a reboot the mouse cursor is stuck in the top left corner (2) Usb supplies power to ext HD but doesn't recognize it (2) I have tried a few searches on here and found a couple of posts similar but no real clues as to the proceess to fix. Both units still show ALL cameras when connected to a screen but there is no recording happening or menu access (mouse issue) Some valid pointers would be most appreciated Thanks Bazzle

Do you have any heat sink inside the unit? Any fan?
bazzle 0 Posted December 19, 2016 Thanks for the reply. Sadly I dont think it is an overheating issue. They stopped working from a cold boot. Both have the same usb issue. It leads me to think there is a software or hardware issue as all other camera viewing and network functions work. I probably need a way to RESET both units to see if the comm link picks up the usb connection . EDIT: I have found a similar issue in the Mini DVR Thread so I have cross posted there as well,on page 85... viewtopic.php?f=56&t=39628&p=295610#p295610 Posted: Mon Dec 19, 2016 10:11 pm
aquamon 0 Posted December 20, 2016 Reformat Hard Drive? Your CPU apparently doesn't like what is going on and so your OSD is turning off (freezing: software/memory bad). A simple remove/reinsert on mouse should indicate if the "mouse was lost". In that case, you need to install a feline to catch it. If that is the case, I would recommend installing a Margay; not only will it go after your "mouses", but also rats, scorpions, bats, roaches, etc... Worst case, your CPU is already fried. Plug hard drive directly to Windoze® and see if it is recognized. Have you tried with Hard Drive disconnected???
bazzle 0 Posted December 20, 2016 Every thing works fine other than the usb's. HArd drives (tried a couple all wotk OK away from unit. The comm to the usb's has been compromised. The link on the other posts shows a chip that "may" be the culprit. The NVR still works and shows all connected cameras. I just cant record anymore as HD plugs into usb. Could you post the link with the picture of the chip? I didn't see it. USB Hard Drives are very unreliable on Windoze. Are they formatted to NTFS?
bazzle 0 Posted December 20, 2016 viewtopic.php?f=56&t=39628&start=765 Next to last post down this page . I dont thinks its a HD issue. Same one(s) work OK on another unit the same. USB issue seems to be a known one. Mouse not working on USB either, tried 3 known ones that worked before.

I do see the pictures, now - I guess I thought the post had ended at the extra large Ad and didn't scroll past it. Could you post the numbers on "the chip"? Really got my curiosity going, now!
