Barefootbandit 0 Posted December 30, 2016 Hello all. I'm hoping you can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong here. I just purchased my first Hikvision system from B&H video in Manhattan, and so far I am terribly disappointed. The NVR system I purchased from B&H is the DS-7608NI-E2/8P with latest firmware V3.4.3_160822. I am coupling it with 3 DS-2CD2342WD-I cameras with firmware 5.4.1_160525 which I purchased from Amazon. These are supposedly US market items, since that was how they were marketed, and additionally they did come in white boxes, not brown. The problem with this system is that while the cameras are up on the screen, it is terribly terribly slow while using it locally with the HDMI interface. The mouse hardly moves at all and the menu takes forever to navigate through. Additionally the video streams are lagging and keep freezing up. After calling B&H asking what is up, they told me that my camera settings are "too high" for this unit, and that I have to turn my framerates down. Not only is this not acceptable, the system is STILL SLOW after lowing all the framerates to 8FPS. Am I missing something here? What am I doing wrong? I thought this thing was designed to handle even better 5MP cameras... Additionally, what NVR should I have bought to begin with since I want to record at minimum three 4MP cameras at full 30FPS framerate?
Barefootbandit 0 Posted December 31, 2016 Update: Did a "Restore Defaults" and everything is running smoothly now. Not sure what setting was causing the slowdown.
