I am getting a AHD DVR and was wondering if i can just swap my old analog DVR and use my pre-existing cameras and wires. I got 700tvl cameras and cat5e wiring with video baluns connectors. almelst 1 Posted January 5, 2017 Yes, it is compatible! The whole idea of AHD/TVI/CVI technologies is to upgrade to new HD cameras without changing the wiring, but still keep downward compatibility with analog cameras. Only problem you can face is that on some DVRs analog and HD cameras can't be connected on any channel at the same time. On some DVRs same type cameras must be paired to adjacent channels (1-2, 3-4 , ...) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
