narinesa 0 Posted January 5, 2017 I am looking for one of the best outdoor PTZ for daytime use at 500 feet. Prefer camera with a tinted globe so that no one can see the head moving (at close distance) Can I see the person face ? Can I read a license plate ? Can I get the best quality picture with 500 feet distance ? I was thinking about h265 network IP ptz for NVR operation and open to all suggestions.
mattaggie 0 Posted January 8, 2017 http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/Prod_GVIPSD3732IR.asp not sure you will get license plate or faces at 500 feet. Those can be tough to get at much shorter distances.
tomcctv 190 Posted January 8, 2017 Hi. Take a look at the Dahua SD59430U-HN. Over 500m is not a problem day or night.
narinesa 0 Posted January 8, 2017 Both are very impressive - Dahua and Geovision. I prefer without IR. Must be in a globe/dome - tinted if possible. Reason is that people close up will not notice the camera tracking them in the day. They can see the (840-850) IR light in the night unless I can get 940 nm I did some research which indicated that a Hikvision smart detection might be the answer but very expensive

But it's all black and hard to see head move. Does it matter which IR spectrum you use........ 500m. Why do you think the hik is better ?
narinesa 0 Posted January 9, 2017 In the night, the 840/850 IR is visible as a red light to the eye. Someone can see the light tracking them. I don't think that the 940 is visible

Or any dome PTZ with IR because they don't exist. Camera housing with attached IR .... Something like a Pelco..... But you will see the full head move 500m away no one is going to see the IR. narinesa 0 Posted January 9, 2017 ok understand. Any PTZ with 940 IR available ? Is the laser light more visible ? I don't know if hikvision is better than Dahua but I do notice more compatible protocols like ONVIF, PISA, etc with hikvision

Ignore the 4g box at the top but you can see it's hard to see the smart ir or were the camera is pointing
