deville57 0 Posted January 10, 2017 Just had my modem/router replaced by AT&T and cannot figure out how to connect my SDR-B3300 to be able to view cameras online. I was able to connect with the "2wire" system I had before but this one is totally different. I wrote every step down last year when I originally got it to work with the 2wire but the Arris, again is different so I'm stuck HELP... Dale
GadgetAssistant 0 Posted January 11, 2017 Try setting the DVR IP address type to DHCP to give it a better chance to connect to your new router.
deville57 0 Posted January 11, 2017 I'll try that thx. Last time to get the 2wire to work I had to go into the router settings and in the customize firewall settings and save the "unknown" link, which was the dvr and it passed the ip was then that of the dvr and I could view it through Ipolis. To be honest it was pure luck since I really didn't have a clue what I was doing. I wrote all of this down in case I had to repeat it but like I stated the new AA&T router is a Arris and the screens in the customize firewall settings are totally different... GadgetAssistant 0 Posted January 12, 2017 Most Arris routers would have a client list to be found on the LAN Setup tab. Hopefully you can find your DVR there after setting it to take an address through DHCP.
deville57 0 Posted January 14, 2017 Not sure where (or what for that matter ) the LAN setup tab is
GadgetAssistant 0 Posted January 15, 2017 Open up a web browser. Type in 192.168.0.1 The default user name is usually 'admin' and the password is 'password' If this info is wrong, portforward.com might give you some insight more in line with your particular model of the Arris router. deville57 0 Posted January 17, 2017 Thx again. I can get to the router settings (http://192.168.1.25) just don't see a "LAN Setup tab", but what I am trying to do is called port forwarding? When I look on the "device list" I can see the dvr (unknown...) in Ethernet LAN-4 but I still do not see the "99.52.xxx.xxx that the Ipolis is looking for when I try viewing the cameras remotely... GadgetAssistant 0 Posted January 17, 2017 The 99.52.xxx.xxx is the WAN IP that AT&T assigns to your router. If you contact them, they should be able to assist you in forwarding the ports for the DVR at the LAN IP of 192.168.1.25. A couple other ways they might help is by using the DVR's LAN IP on the router's DMZ or the IP/MAC pass through, if those options are available. And if I might correct myself, AT&T usually sets the router address at 192.168.1.254 and to make any advanced changes on the router you will need the device access code from the sticker on the router.
